Whether you?re glassing to the next ridge, down city streets, or in any other situation, many military and tactical spotters are discovering these high power binoculars are easy to use, give them a better view and offer a lot more comfort during extended use than spotting scopes. And the 80-mm objective lenses, combined with Steiner's legendary optics, deliver far superior low-light performance. Don't let their light weight ? they?re 30% lighter than look-alike competitors ? fool you. These binoculars were developed for military and border patrol applications and are mil. spec. tough: totally waterproof, shock resistant, and rubber armored. Tripod mount is included, but they are light enough to be hand held. The 15x80 Military is also available with Steiner?s HD stabilized compass (Commander Military) and range reticle for determining distance and direction of distant targets or objects. Depth of field is 60 yards out to infinity once focused for your eyes.
How Steiner Optics tells their brand Story. In 1947, in the face of demolished infrastructures and a collapsed economy, Karl Steiner started a one-man workshop in Bayreuth, Germany, obsessed with a single goal: creating optical products so functional, sturdy and uniformly flawless that nothing in the chaotic, mass-production post-war world could compare. Steiner world-class lenses, coatings and prisms are created, perfected and produced in Germany, enduring the most exhaustive production, inspection, testing and approval process in the industry – lenses alone go through 460 exacting steps.
Steiner Optics makes trusted optics for life’s defining moments. The successful pursuit and capture of these moments demands the fast and precise detection, location and identification of a distant objective.
